The Guided Sheep Experience and Our Promise

The S-67 sheep herd is small and fragile. Unsuccessful hunters in the past have underestimated the remoteness and overestimated their ability to find game. In recent years the rams have started moving around quite a bit so knowledge from a few years ago of where the rams are will send you on a wild goose chase. This sheep herd is not doing well as disease has taken its toll. However, the genetics in this herd are great if a ram can make it to maturity. There are rumors that the unit will be combined with the adjacent S-59 tag. This is great news as RBO’s sister outfit, Flat Tops Wilderness Guides operates in the heart of S-59.

This is one of the few sheep units in the state that horses are actually useful and some of our camps are in the middle of where the rams like to hang out.

We take these sheep tags very seriously and know that scouting is critical.

Additional Notes:

  • Additional staff are typically involved as spotters and to help pack the animal out.

  • All hunts include skinning/capeing and quartering of the moose in addition to packing out the animal.

Our Guided Promise:

All of our guides are seasoned hunters/guides and know the area and animal behavior. Though we do not guarantee punched tags, we do guarantee an adventure of a lifetime.
